A Community Mosaic
introduces viewers to Brentwood and Crestview, mid-century neighborhoods that were among the first suburbs of Austin, Texas. Today, they are
considered part of Central Austin.
Our neighbors are the real heart of Brentwood and Crestview. In the film, you’ll meet a few of them—Beverly Lester, Wanda and Emory Muehlbrad, Ronnie Prellop, Kay Ramsey, Scooter Rushing, Bill Williamson, and artist Jean Graham, who was inspired to create the 120-foot-long mosaic Wall of Welcome at Crestview Shopping Center.
Jean and hundreds of neighbors worked together for more than five years in a spirit of creativity, commitment, and community to make the wall a reality, transforming one blank wall and, in the process, two neighborhoods. We hope the wall and our film inspire you, too.
Kudos for A Community Mosaic
